keyboard_arrow_downA wooden bar set horizontally against the wall, from which two, three or four travertine cylinders hang down. Each cylinder hangs vertically, suspended by a short cable from the wooden structure. The LED shines from inside each cylinder: the stone, porous and translucent in places, filters the output and produces a warm halo on the outer wall of the travertine. This minimalist travertine wall light takes its presence from that construction in two registers, the strict geometry of the wooden bar and the living material of the stone cylinders hanging from it.
The travertine of each cylinder is beige and veined, with the pitting and irregularities particular to sedimentary rock. No two cylinders are identical: the veins follow different paths, the areas of density vary, and some places let more light through than others. Lit, the cylinders do not diffuse evenly. The light comes out where the stone is thin and stays held back where it is dense. The result is a textured light that carries the geography of the rock. The wooden structure, dark walnut or pale wood, fixes the whole to the wall and visually frames the cylinders hanging from it.
In a bedroom, above the bedhead, two cylinders on either side of the structure give a localised, soft light that suits reading without glare. In a living room, above a console table or a low sideboard, three or four cylinders cover a wider area and structure the wall with a repeated mineral composition. In an entrance or a hallway, the 2-light version is enough to create a point of warm light without taking over the space.
The number of cylinders governs the width of the fitting and the total light output. The 2-light version is the most compact: it suits narrow recesses, simple bedheads and spaces where the available wall is limited. The 3-light version covers a wider surface and balances large bedroom walls or mid-sized living spaces better. The 4-light version comes into its own on wide walls or in settings where the fitting has to give visual structure to a whole area: behind a sofa, above a long living-room unit, or in a dining room as side lighting.
The Walnut finish pairs a deep brown wooden structure with the pale beige cylinders of travertine. The contrast between the two materials is pronounced: the dark wood anchors the whole and brings out the paleness of the stone. In an interior of warm, dark tones, this version fits in without a break. The Natural wood finish produces a more homogeneous relationship between the materials. The structure stays in a register close to the travertine, natural wood and beige stone carrying on from one another. In an interior of light, neutral tones, this version is more discreet and more restful.
The colour temperature is chosen at the time of ordering. Warm white at 2700-3000K is the coherent choice with travertine: it reinforces the amber cast of the stone and produces a light close to a candle seen through rock. Cool white changes the register. The cylinders lean towards white and the darker veins of the travertine stand out more clearly. The effect is more mineral, more contemporary, and suits interiors that embrace cool contrasts.
To explore other wall lights in travertine and natural materials suited to the bedroom and the living room, our wall lights collection brings together models in travertine, alabaster, wood and metal so you can compare structures, formats and light quality to suit the space you have in mind.
A single travertine cylinder lit from within is already an object. Two, three or four cylinders lined up on the same bar become a composition, a modular repetition that structures the wall horizontally. The eye reads the series, not the unit. The light comes from several points at once, which creates a wider and softer diffusion than a single source. The areas of shadow between the cylinders are still there but are eased by the sideways diffusion of the stone.
The weight of the fitting varies from 1.3kg to 2.5kg depending on the number of lights. That point is not trivial: a standard wall fixing is not enough for the 3 and 4-light versions. It fixes to an existing lighting point. Backplate, fixings and illustrated instructions supplied. Allow about 20 minutes. Switch off at the consumer unit before starting work. A 4-light travertine wall light fixed correctly will stay stable for years without attention; fixed badly, it is a real risk given the density of the stone.
This minimalist travertine wall light works in interiors that embrace raw materials and repeated compositions. The stone cylinders are visible and present, lit or unlit. In a pared-back space with a bare wall, the wooden bar and its mineral cylinders occupy the wall with a calm authority. It is a light that lasts visually, without dating.

The house of Lumiris
Lumiris was born from a simple conviction: a light is not an accessory, it is a presence. It changes the way a room is read, softens an evening, turns an ordinary space into a refuge. We founded this house for those who refuse to choose between beauty and longevity.
Every piece in our catalogue is chosen for its material — alabaster, travertine, marble, solid wood — for the character that is its own, and for its ability to carry the years without ageing. At Lumiris, nothing is mass-produced. Everything is made to last.

Which light should you choose for a dining room?
keyboard_arrow_downA dining room calls for lighting that is decorative and comfortable in equal measure. The pendant light remains the most common choice, because it draws the eye to the table and creates a warm atmosphere during meals. Over a rectangular table, a linear model or several pendants hung in a row spread the light more evenly. Over a round table, a single central pendant in glass, travertine, alabaster or metal works beautifully. The hanging height should light the table without dazzling your guests, with a warmer light to keep the mood convivial.
How do you choose the right light for a living room?
keyboard_arrow_downThe right choice depends on the size of the room, the ceiling height and the mood you are after. In a generous living room, a central pendant or a cluster of pendants gives the space structure and provides a pleasant general light. A wall light completes the scheme, creating a softer atmosphere beside a sofa, a bookcase or a reading corner. Plug-in wall lights suit relaxing corners particularly well, because they add targeted light without any change to your electrical installation. At Lumiris, models in alabaster, glass, wood, travertine or metal let you match the lighting to the style of your interior.
What does the colour temperature of a light mean?
keyboard_arrow_downColour temperature describes the tint of the light given off by the bulb or the LED. A warm light, around 2700K to 3000K, creates a soft, welcoming atmosphere, ideal for a living room, a bedroom or a dining room. A neutral light, around 4000K, suits kitchens, home offices or hallways. A cool light gives a whiter, more functional result. This choice shapes the mood of a room directly, even when the design of the light itself stays exactly the same.
How do you know whether a light will light a room well enough?
keyboard_arrow_downLight output is measured in lumens, not in watts alone. The higher the lumen figure, the more strongly the light shines. In a living space, plan for enough general light first, then layer in secondary lighting such as a wall light or a second pendant. A large room may need several light sources to avoid dark corners. Decorative lights in alabaster, glass, paper or fabric sometimes cast a softer light, which makes them perfect for atmosphere but less suited to being the only source of light in a room.
What is the difference between an integrated LED and a replaceable bulb?
keyboard_arrow_downAn integrated LED is built straight into the light fitting and often allows a slimmer, more modern or more sculptural design. It offers good light efficiency and low energy consumption. A replaceable bulb gives you more freedom to choose the brightness, the colour temperature and the type of bulb to suit your own preferences. Before buying, it is worth checking the product page for the type of light source, the compatible wattage and any options available. This detail affects both upkeep and long-term use.
What are the delivery times for your lighting?
keyboard_arrow_downOrders are generally processed within 1 to 2 working days once payment is confirmed. Once dispatched, delivery usually takes 6 to 8 working days depending on the destination and the route your parcel takes. The total time is therefore typically 7 to 10 working days.
