The stone lets the light through while softening it, and its mineral shading appears as soon as the source is switched on. The result is a soft light, closer to a glow than to a beam, which suits rooms made for resting. Thirty centimetres (12") high, it goes up as a bedside wall light, in a hallway or above a low cabinet. The E14 (SES) cap takes a dimmable bulb so the mood can be set. Its thirty centimetres (12") place Petra on an in-between scale: present enough to dress a bedroom or living room wall, contained enough for a hallway or a bedside. Mounted at eye level, it shows its plate of stone where the eye naturally settles. On its own, it lights a reading corner; in a pair, it frames a bed or a mirror; in a run, it gives a long wall rhythm. Its soft glow gets on well with a stronger general lighting, which it gradually replaces as the evening goes on.
